Every apartment on CheckinBliss has passed through stages of scrutiny most platforms never attempt. Our standard is strict by design, so that only homes we would send our own family to ever earn a place here.
When we open a new city, we do not simply list what exists. We seek out the apartments worth staying in, then visit each one in person — walking the rooms, testing what guests test, and confirming on the ground what a screen can never tell you. Most are turned away. Only the homes that clear every stage make it in.
Africa has its own realities, and a stay only works when those realities are handled. So we check the things that actually shape a stay here — not a generic checklist, but the details that decide whether a home is worthy of a returnee.
A home does not pass once and stay forever. It moves through a standing cycle — and any home that slips is pulled until it is put right.
Gathered from the first stay and after every stay that follows.
Assessed periodically by our city managers against the criteria.
Re-checked on the ground. Anything that no longer meets the standard comes down.
Only homes that hold the standard stay live — and the cycle begins again.
Of all the ways to book a stay in Africa, the largest platforms are the most familiar — and they work, up to a point. Booking.com and Airbnb both carry enormous inventory, and for much of the world that breadth is the point.
But breadth is not the same as certainty. When you are coming home, or sending people who matter, what reassures is not endless choice but a shorter list you can trust. CheckinBliss is built on that principle: fewer homes, each one seen, each one accountable to us. Here is how that difference plays out.
CheckinBliss offers private apartments only — no shared rooms, no chain hotels — in the prime neighbourhoods of Lagos and Abuja. Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki, Banana Island: the places a returnee actually wants to stay, not wherever inventory happens to exist.
We are built for the diaspora returnee — the person coming home after years away, who wants the ease and certainty they are used to abroad, and who will not settle for a gamble. And for anyone visiting Africa who expects the same. Our standard is high because our guests’ expectations are, rightly, high.
We refuse to hide anything from our guests. Where a home has a quirk worth knowing — a generator’s hum in one room, a busier street, a smaller third bedroom — we say so plainly, before you book. An unwanted surprise is the fastest way to lose trust, so we would rather tell you.
You will find each apartment’s Full Picture set out on its own listing page, alongside the details of the stay.
