1.Our commitment
CheckinBliss is built to be usable by as many people as possible, whatever device or assistive technology they rely on. Accessibility is not a feature we bolt on at the end; it shapes how the site is designed and built.
We treat accessibility as ongoing work. As the site grows, we keep testing and improving it, and we welcome being told where we fall short.
2.What we have built in
Across the site, we have taken specific, deliberate steps:
- Keyboard navigation. Interactive elements — links, buttons, menus, accordions, and forms — can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, without a mouse.
- Visible focus. A clear focus outline shows which element is selected as you move through the page with the keyboard.
- Colour contrast. Text is set against its background to meet recognised contrast levels, and we never rely on colour alone to carry meaning — labels and glyphs back it up.
- Readable structure. Pages use proper headings and landmarks, so screen readers can announce and navigate them in a logical order.
- Descriptive text. Images that carry meaning are given alternative text, and links are written to make sense out of context.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, we honour that and switch off non-essential animation and smooth-scrolling.
- Responsive layout. The site reflows cleanly across phone, tablet, and desktop, and remains usable when text is enlarged.
3.Standards we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard widely referenced in the UK and internationally. Where we have not yet fully met it, we treat the gap as work to be done rather than a settled state.
4.Known limitations
We are honest about where we are still improving. Some third-party components — such as embedded maps — may not yet be fully accessible, and we are working with those constraints where we can. If you rely on assistive technology and hit a barrier, please tell us, and we will help directly while we work on a lasting fix.
5.Tell us if something isn't working
If any part of CheckinBliss is difficult to use, we want to know. Email hello@checkinbliss.com with the page and the problem, and we will respond and, where we can, offer another way to get what you need in the meantime.
