About Lekki Phase 1
Lekki Phase 1 is the most dynamic residential district on the Lagos mainland side of the island corridor. It has grown quickly over the past decade and now has its own dense ecosystem of cafes, restaurants, gyms, and co-working spaces.
The lagoon to the north and the Atlantic to the south mean you are never far from water. The downside is that Lekki has some of the most unreliable traffic in Lagos — the single access road in and out means a slow day can stretch a ten-minute journey to forty-five.
It is a neighbourhood that rewards planning. Arrive and leave outside of morning and evening peak hours and you will have a comfortable base.

Getting here from the airport
Roughly 70–100 minutes outside peak. Allow 2–3 hours if you land between 4pm and 8pm on a weekday — Lekki traffic is unpredictable.
Murtala Muhammed International to Ikeja
Leave the international terminal and join the airport road towards Oshodi. Dual carriageway the whole way, resurfaced and well lit.
Ikeja to Third Mainland Bridge
Through Oshodi and onto the bridge approach. This is the stretch that determines your journey time — free-flowing at midday, slow from mid-afternoon. Surface is sound but uneven in places.
Third Mainland Bridge to Lekki–Epe Expressway
Cross the bridge and continue past Victoria Island onto the Lekki–Epe Expressway. Road quality is good on the main carriageway.
